Its that time of year again; time for young and old alike to pick up the black walnuts in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa, and surrounding areas of the Ozarks. I remember growing up on a farm and my brothers and sisters would spend hours picking up the walnuts and selling them for cash to spend on Christmas presents. Our hands would be stained for weeks but it was hard honest work.
If you want to sell your walnuts, Hammons Products Company will pay you $9 per 100 pounds (after hulling!) Watch out for those squirrels!

2008 has been an interesting year to say the least! We want to wish all our friends and clients a Happy New Year for 2009.
We've sold a lot of homes in Ozark, Springfield, and Nixa this year. Home prices have dipped some but thankfully not too much. We're confident 2009 will see positive recovery in the real estate market. We still live in one of the greatest areas of the country and love the people and our community!

As they say "all real estate is local". Thankfully the SW Missouri Ozarks has not seen the drastic reduction in existing home sales like the East and West coast.
TeamKnowles has been extremely busy in sales and listings the past couple of months leading us to believe that the local market has already hit bottom and are well on the road to recovery. Of course only time will tell and we will be able to look back at the statistics and know for sure.

Today was the great rubber duck race at Ozark Missouri! The rubber ducks race/float down the Finley river and the winner gets $5,000!! To sponser a duck costs five bucks and the money rasied goes to the parks and recreation department to improve the parks in the area. It was a hot day but the ducks loved it!

ozark: 10 Lesson's Learned From The Money Pit

Remember the 1986 movie The Money Pit? In this comedy Walter (Tom Hanks) buys a house that seems to be a fantastic deal only to find out its riddled with problems. I love this movie and still have it on VHS tape. (Yes my VCR still works!)
There are a lot of great lessons to be learned from this movie...
1. Use a real estate agent you can trust.
2. Always get a home inspection.
3. Get references from your contractors and an accurate timetable.
4. Be careful about borrowing money from relatives.
5. Never buy a house after only looking at it once.
6. Always get all the required permits.
