Palm Beach County Has Recovered Quickly! As scary and damaging hurricanes can be, Irma was no exception! However, here in S. Florida we have recovered very quickly! Thanks to great companies like FPL (Florida Power & Light) and Publix. It’s still a pleasure to be in one if the United States’ best tropical cities, Delray Beach! The recovery efforts have been moving swiftly along, so that the residents of S. Florida can move on to enjoy the wonderful lifestyle that we have here. Palm Beach County, Florida plans to convert old newspaper stands to "little libraries". What a great idea to get kids reading! It will work on the honor system of take a book and bring it back or leave another book of their choice. The first "little library" started last week in Riviera Beach, and they plan for 17 more this month. They hope for about 100 of these boxes all over Palm Beach County. Beware Of Fires, Maintain Your Air Conditioner This Summer! This is definitely one of the hottest summers that the nation has had in a while. Many people tend to neglect their air conditioner and just hope that it will keep them cool through these hot months. Who would ever guess that a leaky A/C could catch on fire? Palm Beach County firefighters have put out three fires in the last six months due to leaking A/C handlers. What happens is that the air conditioner leaks in the closet or room that it sits in and short circuits the electrical equipment underneath. (3 comments)
