iowa: First sign of spring? Caucuses blooming in Iowa 1/3/12

A sure sign of spring in even numbered years is political activity, and Iowa has the distinction of being first out of the gate. Tonight, Republicans will gather in hundreds of locations to tally their preference for the person to oppose the President's reelection bid. It looks like a horse race that will end close to a dead heat, which will allow several candidates to claim victory. My guess is that Santorum, Gingrich, Paul, Romney, and Bachmann will all claim that they won the contest. The excitement is overwhelming (yeah, right).
