san mateo real estate: October 2011 Hillsborough Real Estate Market Update– Holding Steady - 11/13/11 12:08 AM

Hillsborough is a relatively small market - with 100 to 150 sales per year. The trends in this area do not frequently change on a month-to-month basis. For October 2011, sales continue to remain steady, whereas both listings and inventory are low.

For each of the past five months, sales have decreased, but this is more likely due to the change in seasons - more sales have been recorded in summer and early fall than late fall and winter – rather than a change in the market. Last October, eight sales have been recorded. There have been … (0 comments)

Seven single family detached homes have been sold within the first nine months of the year as compared to 12 homes at the same period last year. san mateo real estate: MY FAVORITE RESTAURANTS AND PLACES TO EAT IN BURLINGAME - 11/02/11 12:31 AM

Asking someone of their most favorite places to eat is like asking a father as to which among his children is his favorite. I’m often asked about my favorite places to eat in Burlingame; and yes, I do have favorites and here are some of them:

Breakfast Abodes

Copenhagen Bakery, my favorite bakery -in the world! - can be found just right in downtown Burlingame. Its founders, owners Ben, Ralf, and Shari Nielsen, established it more than thirty years ago. The buttery aroma and Danish ambience that welcome you upon entering the place are definitely hard to … (1 comments)

san mateo real estate: YOUR THANKS FOR GIVING - 10/31/11 07:59 PM

Is the glass half-empty or half-full? People see a half-filled glass of water from different perspectives. A pessimist sees it as half empty; an optimist sees it as half-full. But, a giving person sees the same glass and starts looking for a person who might be thirsty.

The holiday season is an opportune time of the year to count our blessings and get out of our comfort zones and start finding opportunities to bless others who might not be as affluent.

There are lots of opportunities to give in the Burlingame area. No endeavor will make you feel … (1 comments)

san mateo real estate: September 2011 Burlingame Real Estate Update– Constrained Market Inventory - 10/28/11 03:26 PM

Constrained Inventory for sale, which frustrates most buyers, persists in Burlingame despite normal tight standard in the area. Homes for sale in Burlingame dropped below 40 at the end of September 2011. Although it is normal that inventory and even sales start to decline as we approach the less active fall and winter months, this occurrence is considered well below historical standards. For example, there were 68 homes on the market at the end of September and the number of homes on the market at this month has not been this low since 2004. The average … (2 comments)

But still, sales in 2011 are higher than in 2010 because sales have improved in recent months, from June through September.  More sales have actually been reported … (0 comments)
