In honor of Saint Patrick's Day this year, we are taking time to reflect on one of our favorite Irish Proverbs: "The longest road out is the shortest road home."
The meaning of the phrase is that it is better to do something right the first time, even if it seems like a more difficult path to engage up front. (Think back to the fairy tales of childhood, and recall the sage advice about the danger in taking shortcuts.)
The Roman philosopher, Seneca, defined luck as "what happens when preparation meets opportunity."
