A number of recent blogs have addressed the idea of painting over wood cabinets.  I am in the process of doing this in my own kitchen and just finished with a client's. Mine, of course, will take almost forever, but it will be worth it.  I grew tired of everything oak in my house and decided to change it up a bit. The Teen Talent Contest is on right now and some of them are very good and others still need more practice.  In a couple hours is the open Talent Contest and there will be some serious contenders for the prize money.
     I have had some interested people stopping by my booth, but many are just scanning for freebies.  They are even afraid to sign up for my drawing,.  They probably think that I will call them regardless of whether they won or not.

The three basic neutral hues used to be black, white, and beige.  Their inherent beauty was that they went with everything - the simple choices.  Then along came camel, taupe, and gray which provided more variations on the basic theme.  Today, however, the "new neutrals" have a completely new definition.  These are colors that simply and beautifully complement most of the other colors in the spectrum.
The right shade is the sticking point.  A soft buttery yellow will go with about everything, but school bus yellow looks best on buses,  rain slickers, and children's rubber duck boots.  Imagine a pale mustard shade … (6 comments)
