rabbits: The Rabbits of Summer

I was hoping to use Debbie Laity's Summertime Special contest to show off all the hard work Mary has done with our gardens this year, but the unending rains in May have delayed the blooms. There isn't yet much that's really photogenic, and I'm out of time.
And we can't venture inside the house, because our granddaughters have temporarily turned it into a combination toxic waste dump/charnel house. So that leaves me with the rabbits.

This was going on in our backyard at daybreak this morning.
We're having an infestation of rabbits in our neighborhood, and many of our neighbors don't like it. However, we don't mind these little guys chomping on our grass and our plants - they seem to be getting as much enjoyment from the lawn and garden as we are, and they're doing their part keeping the growth under control.
It's fun to watch them play. They're co-existing with the dogs, who have learned that no, they're not fast enough to catch a rabbit, so why bother? And (14 comments)
