training: Experience, knowledge, and training - 09/26/13 12:41 PM
You will want to hire a REALTOR® who has experience working with first-time buyers.  You need someone who is specially trained on affordable loans and down payment assistance programs, and someone who has the knowledge because he or she has successfully helped many homebuyers to purchase their homes.  When interviewing, ask how many continuing education and professional development classes she attends regularly.
One way to find out if your real estate agent is knowledgeable is to look at her business card and web site.  You may find out that she is certified in a certain area of real estate, or has earned … (0 comments)

training: Speed Coaching in 7 Minutes? Give it a WHIRL - 05/21/09 07:30 AM
Today
I was invited to become a member of OzWorth, the new concept in Speed Coaching!  But I wondered what I could get for FREE (since I'm on a budget)?  So I checked out their web site and found their story:
"In 2001 Ozworth founder, Ryan Lee, was barely scraping by as a gym teacher.  While his colleagues were watching TV or reading the newspaper in the teachers lounge during their free periods, Ryan trekked through 3 blocks of the gang-infested streets to find a local library with free Internet access. He soaked up everything he could. He invested all his time … (12 comments)

training: Training is an Ongoing Business Task! - 05/20/09 11:34 AM
Sometimes people wonder why I attend so many workshops, seminars, conferences, and training sessions.
Training keeps me sharp and keeps my mind alert.  New, fresh ideas keep me at the top of my game.  And meeting new folks, learning new methods keeps me energized day after day.
Maybe I'm a workshop junkie?
I love listening, learning, and thinking.  I take notes.  Tons of notes.  And share them with others.  I collect cards and send an email to each new person I meet.
I get excited just thinking about attending a training!
Especially in the real estate industry, there is so much to … (13 comments)

training: Host a Seminar or Workshop: Gain Clients & Credibility - 05/11/09 06:05 PM
Name recognition, expert status, putting a few more leads into the pipeline... who wouldn't want that?  Just organize a seminar or workshop!  It's a great way to gain new clients.  (Caution:  It does take a lot of time to coordinate all the details & market it.)
Before teaching a specific subject, I recommend that you attend other classes on the same topic so you know what your competition is doing.  Make it short (2 hours if you can); and, of course, cover only 1 topic per seminar.
When you're done, you can also turn your seminar into an online webinar, just … (7 comments)

training: Our #1 Job is Capturing Leads (& the Story of Snoopy) - 05/07/09 08:24 AM
Capturing leads is our #1 job.  Our #2 job, equally important, is converting those leads into clients.  This was the fundamental principle top instructor Doug Smith spoke about at his recent real estate sales training seminar.
While we can hire a marketing company or an assistant to GET leads, it's our job to turn those leads into buyers or sellers.  That was an eye-opener for me, as I had never really broken it down into 2 categories:  Capturing & Converting.
"The most successful real estate salespeople sell mostly TO and THROUGH people they already know," said Doug Smith.  So that's why it's … (8 comments)

training: California Realtors®: How About some HELP with all those FORMS? - 03/23/09 04:32 PM
How do you keep track of all those forms, contracts, and documents?  How do you know which forms to use for which type of transaction?  And what do all those clauses mean?
With so many forms, it can get confusing and even overwhelming.  Would you like a personal instructor to recommend all the correct forms for each transaction?
*POOF!*  Your wish is granted.  The California Association of Realtors offers Forms Tutor(TM) and Forms Advisor(TM) which work in conjunction with WinForms (the online version).
"Forms TutorTM is an online service that explains the standard forms clause-by-clause, with audio and text instructions."  Amazing, … (10 comments)

training: How to be GOOD (or GREAT) at Anything: Keys to SUCCESS - 03/23/09 04:01 PM
"Being good at anything is merely the combination of desire, knowledge, and practice," according to Recruiting Coach Steven Morris.  He shows real estate broker/owners how to grow their brokerages through recruiting top real estate agents.
He shared the above KEYS TO SUCCESS with me recently when I told him that YES I would like to start recruiting licensed real estate agents in California to my brokerage -- but I lacked the confidence to begin just yet.
I have a GREAT training system for my new company.  I'm very experienced and willing to help newbie agents get started.  I enjoy paying my … (16 comments)

training: Searching for a Mentor? Here's some clues. - 01/13/09 05:54 PM
Want to skyrocket your career to a whole new level?  Maybe you've been thinking about learning tips from a pro on-the-job.
Who is a good mentor?  A mentor is a person who is willing to make a commitment to coach a less-experienced "mentee" at no charge or cost.  A mentor is ready to give back to others, to help contribute to another's growth.  A mentor is someone concerned about our future world, wanting to make a difference.
Determine a good Mentor who is a good fit for you.  When seeking a mentor, evaluate their compatibility with the following criteria:

Hello fellow AR friends:
Do you know of a good resource to watch webinars for real estate agents?  I would like to find a company that offers training for beginners, intermediate, and advanced agents.  Also it should be free or very low-cost AND professional quality.  Am I asking for too much?
Come on, there's so many resources out there, I know one of you must have a source handy!
THANK YOU.
