As of today, September 30, 2008, there are currently 7,700 Mecklenburg County houses listed FOR SALE in the Carolina Multiple Listing Service.  These homes have an average list price of $343,866 and 114 days on the market.
There are currently 1,029 houses PENDING (or under contract).  The average list price of these homes is $246,206 with 86 days on the market.
Within the past 6 months, 5,656 houses have SOLD in Mecklenburg County with an average sales price of $246,959 and 83 days on the market.

huntersville realtor: Charlotte Mecklenburg School Update - 09/19/08 08:34 AM
Today I attended a Realtor event where Dr. Peter Gorman spoke about the current state of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.  He was a very good speaker and provided a lot of information about CMS' performance and goals.  There will be a new tool "rolled out" soon by CMS called the Data Dashboard, which will allow the public to comprehensively view how schools are doing throughout the district.  It seems like it will be very informative for people that are considering moving to the area, but are concerned about how well the schools are performing.  Until the Data Dashboard is availalble, parents and prospective … (0 comments)

I'm a Realtor in the Lake Norman area of North Carolina, just north of Charlotte.  Our market has slowed a bit, but overall, we are doing pretty well given the current economic situation that plagues our country.  Data from the CMLS (Carolina Multiple Listing Service) reports that average days on market is approximately 130.7, residential contracts reported and closings are down from last year at this time, and that the average residential closing price is down by nearly 3.8% when compared to this period a year ago.  With all of that said, the CMLS also reported that 2,721 houses closed from … (0 comments)
