The CDD at Eagle Harbor just made a hard financial decision concerning the golf course bond and interest payments. They elected not to pay the $150,000 interest payment due in April. The Chairman of the CDD board, Steve Czajkowski said that the finances were strong enough to keep the course running, but not strong enough to repay that debt. The Crossings CDD has the $150,000 to pay it, but decided against making the payments due to the loss in revenues over the last 5 years. His family asked neighbors to put flags out on the street to honor him when he came home. Here is the result and I just wish I could really let you see what it looked like. Eagle Harbor residents, it's Luminary time again! If you are going to be home this Friday evening, please line your sidewalks and driveways with luminaries and light up our beautiful neighborhood. The luminaries will be from 7-10 PM. How do I make a Luminary? It's really easy. Just use wax paper bags (the kind you get from the bakery) and fill with sand in the bottom, or take plastic milk jugs and cut them to fill with sand in the bottom. It may not look out of place to Fleming Island and Jacksonville residents today, but back then it was a show stopper. Among the things that sets Eagle Harbor apart from other communities is the Adult Pool at the Waterfront Park. This pool is heated year round (well, not necessary in June-September) and in the fall when the other pools close, the kids get to join in the fun. But the rest of the year, this pool is the inter sanctum of The Adults! Eagle Harbor residents enjoy morning swim most of the year, and guests may bring their own food and beverages - can anyone say par-tay?
