horsealicious: Who Was The Top Seller, Day 1, At Ocala Breeders' Sales Fall Mixed Sale? - 10/22/10 01:15 AM
Original posted on Horsealicious.
Who was the top seller, Day 1, at Ocala Breeders’ Sales Fall Mixed Sale? The top seller in the Consignor Preferred session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2010 Fall Mixed Sale was a 5-year-old Storm Cat mare (Hip No. 147), Zehoorr, in foal to Tiznow, purchased by Rustlewood Farm, Inc. (Reddick, FL) for $250,000 from the Reddick-based Westbury Stables. Average sale numbers were up 42% compared with 2009, in part due to the dispersal of the entire stock of Westbury Stables. horsealicious: Knee Deep in Grass in West Ocala Horse Farm Country. - 09/10/10 09:06 AM
Knee deep in grass in West Ocala horse farm country, this friendly mare’s mouth was wet from dew on the grass, her face was brushed with sand… and she was beautiful in the early morning sun.
Isn't it beautiful in Ocala's famous and lush horse country?!!
I've mentioned this before, but Google has some amazing property searches. Loving it more every day. Here is a map of Ocala foreclosures on Google. Harnessing the power of the MLS.... slowly but surely. Just sayin'.

horsealicious: Can You Imagine Living on Anything But A Horse Farm in Ocala? - 08/16/10 01:49 AM
It is difficult to imagine living on anything but a horse farm in Ocala (but I'm doing it, darn it!), especially considering there are over 200 horse farms in and around Ocala in Marion County, Florida. Nothing says horses and horse farms like Ocala, everywhere you look. The pastures, signs, entries, and horses paint a beautiful landscape. Some of the photos in the video below were taken around some of Ocala’s beautiful horse farms in the York area, home to a few spectacular Thoroughbred horse farms like Double Diamond, Live Oak Stud, and Stonewall Farm.

Image by susieblackmon via Flickr Early the morning of August 12 I rode around some of Ocala’s beautiful horse farms in the York area, home to a few spectacular Thoroughbred horse farms like Double Diamond, Live Oak Stud, and Stonewall Farm.
There were even some horses being exercised on the track at Double Diamond when I was filming, so I hope you enjoy this little drive with me.

Here are a few of the sights and sounds from the Southern Regional Paso Fino Horse Association’s Extravaganza at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion on Jacksonville Road in Ocala, FL, which I attended on Saturday, August 7th. Many Paso Fino horse farms call Ocala, and surrounding Marion County areas, home.

It's Tortuous Tuesday here in my blogosphere. Thought I'd post a few 'of interest' items so I would have an excuse to post the darling video of the colt playing with his ball (below). If you haven't signed up for your communities yet here on Active Rain, there is more information and great 'how to' instructions right here. Zenyatta is still the first lady. Secretariat Trailer [October 2010 Release]. Tonka, the Hemingway cat, relaxing late this afternoon in Ocala. Clouds in Ocala. If you just want to look at something very cute, here's a great video:

horsealicious: Up Close and Personal with Florida-Bred Thoroughbreds on Horse Farms in Ocala. - 07/31/10 12:49 PM
It is hard to dwell on the [sluggish] economy, [difficult] real estate market, and [rampant] lack of jobs in our nation when you spend a little time with some Florida-bred Thoroughbreds, up close and personal, on horse farms in Ocala, Morriston, and also Williston.

Marion County is comprised of five incorporates cities, each with its own charm, history, lifestyle, and horse farms. Please visit the cities at your convenience:

This night bloomer, which was still open early this morning in Ocala, made me think of Mike Jones because the blooms 'sprout' from a big, gnarly cactus, and Mike has posted some pretty amazing cactus photos here on Active Rain.
Here is something else you can see early in the morning in Ocala - - hint: horses on horse farms.

It's early morning in Ocala and you might think I should be working on my blogging... and I was. I was also working on my TeuxDeux list (LOVE this great, easy way to keep a 'To Do' list). Then I looked on the bed, and there was my kitty, all covered with cobwebs. Call this Silly Sunday.

Ocala's Thoroughbred horse farms enjoyed a successful June Sale at Ocala Breeders Sales Co. ("OBS") last Tuesday. The June sale was the Two-Year-Old Sale at "OBS" (located on Airport Road). Some of the photos I took at the sale are in the slideshow, which I hope you enjoy. Results of the sale can be found here. The next Thoroughbred sale at OBS is in August.
Here is an article in the Thoroughbred Times about the June sale.

horsealicious: Hibiscus Sure Seem Happy in Florida, and So Is This Cowgirl! - 05/18/10 09:33 AM
Taking time to wander, spend time with family and friends, and work on my new Ocala websites (such as Ocalalicious and Juicy Tidbits, and my [not ready] Breaking Ocala News site) is allowing me the luxury of doing 5 to 6 miles on the pavement every morning, snapping pictures along the way. My main website is Horsealicious, which will be my focus once I am spending more time in Ocala.
There are so many beautiful 'Florida hibiscus' everywhere! Coming from Hawaii, hibiscus are a welcome sight to me. I remember my mother hoping to have luck with the plumeria trees she … (11 comments)

horsealicious: Sunday Photos 'Announcing' My Return/Relocation to Florida... Specifically to the Horse Capital, Ocala, by Way of Sarasota. - 05/16/10 10:19 AM
Here are some photos taken very recently while visiting with family and friends now that I am back in Florida. I am working my way between Sarasota and Ocala at the present time, until all the pieces come together. My North Carolina Real Estate Brokerage license is being converted to a 'Referring Broker' status until I pursue my Florida Real Estate license.
Until then, I am fine tuning my websites (and adding some great new sites!) and focus to reflect, even more, my passions... horses, horse properties, marketing and promoting, as well as expanding my referral network (among other things).

horsealicious: New Toy Alert! Flash Your Flickr Pictures. - 08/08/09 04:11 AM
I found a great new Flickr toy (if you like photos) which some of you might like. So far I have been able to use it easily everywhere but Active Rain so this is not to drive traffic to my websites, but at this point I have no other way to show you how great the new toy is other than sending you to my horse website, Horsealicious.
My search word for the example on my horse website is horses, for obvious reasons, but the program works with any photo categories on Flickr (like Maggie Valley or flowers, or whatever you … (6 comments)

horsealicious: Not For Hire in Waynesville Honey, But I Do Deliver. - 06/28/09 09:35 AM
Crazy Bob's (I love his advertising) is right on the main drag to Maggie Valley, Dellwood Road, and he has an eclectic collection of 'Crazy Bob' stuff. He's right next door to the Greyhound Bus terminal which also sells good ice cream cones. Could be my dinner again tonight.
High Country, a rustic cabin decor up-scale furniture store is a short way down the road too, and I would imagine they will deliver just about anything you want from their showroom.
