Compared to all the other states Rhode Island is the smallest in size, covering 1,214/(1545) square miles. Its distances East to West 37 miles and North to South are 48 miles. RI borders Connecticut to the west, and Massachusetts to the north and east. By sea, RI borders New York (1 comments)
