According to the first-ever United States Peace Index, created by the Institute for Economics and Peace Institute,. Rhode Island ranks as the 8th most peaceful state in the country. Neighboring Massachusetts ranks a notch higher, at number 7. I am a native born Rhode Islander and ♥ this state and its capital PROVIDENCE. I grew up in East Providence and travelled by bus frequently to the City of Providence to shop, eat and go to the movies and theater. Today I live north of Providence in Lincoln and still always love going to Providence I walk the Eastside Benefit Street, Wickenden, (1 comments)
Twenty-seven months after the birth of our first born son,John Michael, along came his sibling and our second, son, Mark Alan.It was on this special day, Saturday, NOVEMBER 10, 1973.
I was going to Rhode Island College, working on my Masters in Education. I actually carried this child to receive my degree on June 10, 1973 . It was Friday, November 9th about 5:30pm and I was getting sharp pangs. I felt I should check it out and headed to St Joseph's Hospital in Providence. I was admitted because they felt I was ready to deliver as they timed me. (11 comments)

On August first I posted a blog asking the question: Who are these two sitting in front of the Brown University Library at 9pm on June 26, 2010?
Why are they sitting here? The two sitting on a stone bench in front of the Brown University John Hay Library were John Corbett, Mark Corbett and Buddy, our beagle, which you cannot see. We were guided there by our Ghost tour guide, Courtney. We were lead by a young girl dressed in black carrying a lantern to light our way through the darkened streets of the historic East (10 comments)
RI called the Eastside, on Congdon Street (formerly known as Bowen Street). This park is located at the top of college hill because we have Brown University and the RI School of Design located on this Eastside of Providence, RI. A main attraction to this park is the 35 ft stone statue of RI's founder, Roger Williams, who history writes was kicked out (6 comments)

Being a native-born Rhode Islander since 1944, born in Pawtucket, RI, lived and taught in East Providence until 1969, when I was married, moved to Pawtucket until 1972 when we bought our first home and raised our family in Lincoln, I am proud to say I LOVE MY STATE. Compared to all the other states Rhode Island is the smallest in size, covering 1,214/(1545) square miles. Its distances East to West 37 miles and North to South are 48 miles. RI borders Connecticut to the west, and Massachusetts to the north and east. By sea, RI borders New York (1 comments)
