Currently the cost of maintaining a real estate license in Nebraska is minimal. The costs include: Omaha Area Board of Realtors® (OABR) dues $475/year Nebraska Realtors Association $90/year Great Plains Multiple Listing Service dues $30/month Errors and Omissions Insurance $135/year eKey for GE Supra lockboxes $15/month The OABR and National Association of Realtors® (NAR) go to great lengths to keep these costs down so that membership is affordable. In my opinion, that this is entirely the wrong thing to do. Getting and keeping a real estate license shouldn't be easy. People depend on their Realtor® to assist them with one of (3 comments)

When selecting an agent there are a few things that you as a seller should do to verify an agent's track record and background. The first thing you need to do is verify that the agent is a Realtor® not just a real estate agent. nebraska realtors association: GRI 104: Financing

Thank you to the Nebraska Realtors Association for bringing Kevin Stahle to Omaha to teach GRI 104: Financing. The class was held at the Holiday Inn Convention Center on June 25th & 26th. Topics covered included conventional, FHA, and VA financing, as well as recent changes in financing requirements. With the sub-prime fallout of 2007 still being felt, knowledge of financing has become more important than ever. Some tidbits of useful information included: Conventional lenders are no longer offering 100% financing. A minimum of 5% down payment is required. FHA however only requires 3% down.
