SPCA Suncoast in New Port Richey has a Lucky Cat Event going on now through Sunday, Aug 21.The adoption fees are $25. for a black kitten; $15 for an adult black cat.Black cats are awesome; their fur is so silky, and they have a mysterious aura. The SPCA Suncoast is open noon-6pm; Wednesday through Sunday.

The SPCA Suncoast in New Port Richey, Florida brought in 40 puppies from another over-whelmed shelter earlier this week. Most of those puppies are ready for adoption! Come out to the shelter at 7734 Congress St., in New Port Richey. But don’t come before noon; the shelter is open noon-6pm Wednesday-Sunday. The number of puppies in our adoption area has exploded! Since June 22nd, more than 100 puppies have been taken into the SPCA Suncoast from shelters that are over run with puppies & have space and time limits. Ford of Port Richey held an event last Saturday to benefit the SPCA Suncoast. The car show and adoption event also had lots of vendors, lots of food, and 5 puppies were adopted.The entrance fee for registering in the car show was a bag of dog or cat food-15lbs minimum. This is what we ended up with.
All five of our puppies were adopted. Ford of Port Richey paid for 3 adoptions-they are so nice to work with. and set all of this up for us.

Ford of Port Richey (Formerly Suncoast Ford) is holding it’s 2nd Annual Dog and Pony Show to benefit the SPCA Suncoast. The event takes place this Saturday from 10am-3pm.This was such a great event last year. It raised over $2,000 and a truckload of food for the shelter. The SPCA Suncoast of New Port Richey is bursting at the seams with doggies and kittens. Last month we took a trip to the panhandle of Florida and brought home 59 cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. Last week, we had brought home 38 dogs and puppies from north Florida. We have animals waiting for space, animals out at foster home, and animals everywhere. We have a lot of puppies, some small dog breeds and lots of kittens with more coming in this week. Well, if you recall. a few weeks ago I told you about being nominated for Queen Chasco in the Chasco Fiesta Coronation Ball (for my SPCA involvement). See I’m Practicing the Queen’s Wave. The SPCA Suncoast in New Port Richey, Florida drove up to the panhandle of Florida this week and brought back 59 animals that were scheduled for euthanasia. There were 13 kittens, 3 cats, 23 puppies and 20 adult dogs. At this time the animals are undergoing medical check-ups, being socialized in foster homes, and will be spayed/neutered prior to being put up for adoption. The SPCA Suncoast does not euthanize for space or time. SPCA Suncoast is open Wed-Sunday, noon-6 pm. 727-849-1048.

Lokey Subaru in Port Richey, Florida hosted an event to benefit the local animal rescue groups.There were a lot of groups there and we had great danes, labradors, goldies, pitbull mixes, and kitties of all kinds. Craig and I were there with the SPCA Suncoast (of course);we had 5 mixed-breed puppies with us and 3 puppies were adopted. There was a petting zoo and horse back rides, face painting, a town jail, and a clown. Lots of kids’ activities, and a lot of people came through. I’m so excited, I have been nominated for Queen Chasco. Every year, Chasco Fiesta is held in New Port Richey, Florida. A King Pithla and Queen Chasco (the names come from the Pithlachascotee River that runs right through the city) are chosen at the Coronation Ball. The Fiesta itself lasts for almost 2 weeks and many events take place during that time. We were at an SPCA Suncoast event in Holiday-Florida on a very windy day. But it was clear and the sky was so very blue who could complain.
It was a bad hair day for ducks!

Superior Bank in Port Richey-Florida held a Shred Event with ProShred Security that benefited the SPCA Suncoast last Saturday. The event was a huge success with people waiting in line to shred their old documents. The total donated to the shelter came to $2,000.Superior had hot-dogs, and all kinds of snacks for the contributors. We were there with puppies for adoption (two were adopted). ProShred did a fantastic job of handling their customers especially since they didn’t expect such a large turn-out.
