By the end of the third quarter of 2007, the Dallas bank foreclosures had lost steam. The Dallas metro area with its 8 counties reported 3,450 foreclosure homes in October 2007, which helped immensely in lowering the overall foreclosure rate. This also had a positive impact as the number of Texas foreclosure homes also went down. By the end of it all, the rate of Dallas foreclosure homes was one per 437 homes, which was lower than what it was earlier in the year but was still 1.3 times more than the national average.
