It seemed fitting with the sun shining and the arrival of Spring a mere two weeks away that we highlight one of Farmville’s great outdoor attractions. The Sandy River Reservoir is a beautiful 740-acre lake constructed in 1994.
Best known for its sport-fishing the reservoir is home to a variety of fish including largemouth bass, sunfish, crappie, channel catfish and chain pickerel. The reservoir only allows paddle boats (no motor boats). There is a boat ramp, fishing pier, parking and is handicap accessible.
