On Thursday April 16, 2009 Camarillo celebrated the grand opening of its long anticipated Promenade. However, not all Camarillo or Ventura County residents welcome the expansion, and have some suggestions for stores that provide a better fit with the younger portion of Camarillo. On an article previously written by yours truly about the Camarillo Promenade E.J comments: Mana, it may seem nice for all the shoppaholics, but we definitely need much more for the family entertainment. At about 9:30pm last Thursday night my husband left the city of Camarillo (elevation; 165 above see level) for a Christmas adventure due north. The Camarillo Christmas Truck drove for 2 hours to Pine Mountain Summit (elevation; 5160 feet above see level) and was back in Camarillo with a bed full of snow by 2:00am. Friday morning our children and their friends woke up to a white (almost) winter wonderland. The joy and laughter was priceless. New Traffic Lights for Santa Rosa Road Taft Electric Co., located in Ventura was appointed by Ventura County's Board of Supervisors to install four stop lights along Santa Rosa Road along a distance of approximately five miles. The cost of this project is estimated at $1.67 million. According to the Ventura County Star the residents of Santa Rosa Valley will pay $713,000 through their property taxes.
