It's Strawberry Pickin' Time Again:  Carteret County,NC

This is the time of year my kids look forward to...

It brings back memories from my childhood as I would sit in the middle of our own Strawberry Field and eat strawberries till my stomach hurt so bad I couldn't stuff another into my mouth.  My parents said I would even eat the green ones...yuck!

We picked close to 15 pounds on Friday afternoon and there are no strawberries to be found at our home this Monday morning.  I think we are going to turn into Strawberries.

You can visit  Local Farms in our area and let your children experience the joy of strawberry pickin'.

Love the strawberry picking memories.  I still try to go when the local farm has them ripe each June.  Apple picking in the fall is also fun!

Great Post and I am loving strawberry season.  Tanner just turned four, and we are taking him to Garner's this weekend for his first strawberry picking experience.  He is so excited, I promised Shortcake!

We love strawberry shortcake.  The kids are old enough now to cut the strawberries and clean them.  We went to Garner Farms this time.  They have huge ones this year.  Thank You for your comments.  Enjoy those Strawberries!

Picking your own berries is so much fun.  Here on Maui they grow them at the higher elevations, and they are REALLY good.  But you can't pick them yourself.

I had a wonderful time in Maui.  I don't remember eating strawberries while we were there, but the other tropical fruit was wonderful.  We would go to the beach side stands and buy all kinds that you can't find in North Carolina.  Maui is a special place for my husband and I.  He proposed to me in Kihe (I think that is how you spell it).  We just celebrated our 13th anniversary together.  (Not that this had anything to do with strawberries :) )  Have a wonderful evening.
