It's worth a trip downtown to the King William District to enjoy breakfast, brunch, or lunch at the Guenther House. While you are there check out the museum, located upstairs, which houses antique baking accessories, cookie cutters, and Dresden china plates, as well as other items. You can view photos of the building and grounds and learn more about the history of the Guenther House at www.guentherhouse.com .
Shirley,
I hope you had a great lunch! My consisted of coffee and water! I love quiche. Can you order for me and I be their in 15.~Thanks
LOL Monique. If you can make it here in 15, I will not only buy your lunch... I will also treat you to dinner. Seriously, if you are ever in San Antonio, call me and I will treat you to lunch at the Guenther House.
I've been there! It was so much fun and the food was delicious. Next time I'm there I calling you to meet me.
That's cool, Ann. I would love to meet you! I've met a few Rainers but all are pretty local. They were great!
I think that I'll start with the peach tea. Then I'll see what I'm in the mood for before I place the order.
I have never been there. Looks like a great place though! I am going to put it on my list!
Shirley, this sounds delicious. Can you take more road trips so that I know where to eat when I come down there?
Sounds delicious, Shirley. I love quiche too, so sorry I am so far away! and lemonade??!!! Just delightful! Hope you enjoyed your meal!
Hi Mary, It was very good.
LOL John, We probably eat out too much. My husband knows where ALL the best restaurants in San Antonio are. No, he knows where all the best restaurants in the state of Texas are... and maybe in the entire country.
Sheldon, you are so quick witted you always make me smile!
Kristin... giiirrrllll... and you are a native San Antonian?!
Hi Mike, Go get some quiche... real men do eat quiche!
The peach tea is a great choice, Melissa.
Hi Peg, It is called Guenther House.
Tea of the Day is Peach? Hmmm. I don't even like tea, which is kind of surprising since I great up in South Texas in a tea-drinking family.
Yes, I am. :(. I suppose I am seriously missing out on some good eats? I am DEFINITELY going there now!!
You look so much younger without clothes on, Greg. Great picture of Preston!
I don't think I would admit that I don't like tea if you still have friends or relatives here. LOL. Southerners/Texans love their tea. My husband keeps a pitcher made at all time. Most people go for "Sweet Tea"... I order mine unsweet and put Splenda in it.
It is seriously a San Antonio tradition, Kristin! GH is also a great place to have a baby shower (I'm just sayin')... or any kind of get together. They have a room upstairs for this. Enjoy!
Hi Shirley! I'll go with the eggs benedict, and a strawberry lemonade. What are you having?
Debi
That sounds good, Debi! I think I will have quiche and some good strong coffee. Yum! :o)
Shirley - What a wonderful looking menu! Between this menu, and Trey's picture of fruits from his garden, my diet is in trouble:-)
