I've Been Watching You!

Home Stager with Interiors By Lynn

I've been watching Active Rain for a few months now.  It is such a great resource and I appreciate the heartfelt, sincere comments and questions that people have as well as the answers they receive.

After observing and learning from Active Rain, I decided today is the day I will join and I did it!  I have started my Home Staging business and now feel I have something to contribute.  I also have some questions I hope others will be able to help me with.  So thank you for such a great forum.

I am trying to get up my courage to go to open houses, but I don't know what to say to realtors once I'm there.  If they are busy, I don't want to intrude on a possible sale.  I also don't want to say the wrong thing and insult them.  So, I feel I need a clever little opening to put both of us at ease and I haven't come up with one yet.  Any sugggestions?

I think a picture is worth a thousand words.  Bring a colorful flyer with some photos of your staging samples to share with the agents at open houses.  Just do it once and you'll see how easy it is.  You'll be amazed at how friendly many of them will be.

Welcome to Active Rain. I am a Realtor and I am always open to suggestions, because in the long run if Home staging tips can get me an extra sale or two, and I can import these tips into my listing presentation it can only help. Be confident and walk in to a open house, most Realtors will welcome your advice.

Welcome Lynn, you will enjoy posting here and watching the points climb!  As for open houses...do what comes natural when visiting them.  If the Realtor is busy just hand him/her your card and go look through.  You don't need to disturb them if they are talking to a prospect.   If they are not busy just ask them how it's going...the conversation will flow from there!

Welcome and enjoy the wonderful discussions here on AR.   Get the word out to the Agents in your area.  Most would be happy to have a professional they can turn to and it's much easier coming from a 3rd party to the Seller.  Trust me - create flyers - leave them at local Real Estate offices with some cards.  Be consistent in getting your information to them.  Good luck.
