SPANISH INFLUX A VIRTUAL BONANZA FOR BI-LINGUAL REAL ESTATE AGENTS IN FRANKLIN NC?

If you've been paying any attention to your surroundings as of late, you will have noticed that there are many Spanish/Latin people becoming part of our communities. Mexican stores, restaurants, construction companies and such are cropping up everywhere. This influx of Hispanic people in our nation brings with it unprecedented opportunity for new business and social challenges alike. In a perfect world, immigrants learned the language of the country they were going to relocate in, but it's not a perfect world now, is it? We live in a rapidly changing world and we must adapt in order to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie therein.  In Franklin, NC., a small rural town with a population 3.500 the Macon County News ran a story titled "WCU students teach Spanish to Macon County health employees"

It is apparent from the contents of this article that a communication gap must be bridged, and it must be done immediately in order to avoid social and business  problems of a grand scale.  One does not have to learn ALL the intricacies of the Spanish language in order to communicate and this is what makes learning to speak Spanish relatively easy and fun.

Jamie Davis, assistant professor of Spanish and French at WCU, and his students are teaching Macon County and Jackson County employees useful Spanish phrases specific to individual jobs in each division of public health and law enforcement, including environmental health, nursing, dentistry, nutrition, clerical work, family planning and prenatal care. Mr. Davis distributes printouts and MP3 audio recordings of pertinent phrases as a reference guide to help employees continue to practice after the learning program is over.

So, how does this information have an application to REAL ESTATE AGENTS IN FRANKLIN, NC or any other locality in the United States?  Think about it, what are the first things any human being looks for when they find themselves absent from their normal surroundings?  FOOD, CLOTHING&SHELTER. This is where the opportunities lie for business agents who will learn to speak Spanish. Real Estate agents who speak Spanish have a distinct advantage over those who don't because speaking Spanish expands their potential client base exponentially! The quest for food, clothing and shelter is a natural chain of events that can not be denied when observing the Spanish community's engagement within the local metro.  It is evidenced by new Spanish stores and businesses cropping up everywhere. Why, even walking through a LOWE'S Home Improvement store, one will find EVERYTHING labled in Spanish. Taking a stroll through your neighborhood grocery store will also support this evidence as one sees all food products now have a "Spanish" label. Spanish specialty grocery stores are now opening in all areas of the US. Savvy Real Estate Agents need to seize this opportunity to capitalize on this sea of new Spanish speaking home buyers, renters, and investors. But speaking the language is A MUST or the opportunities will go elsewhere.  Remember, One does not have to learn ALL the intricacies of the Spanish language in order to communicate and this is what makes learning to speak Spanish easy, fun, AND PROFITABLE
