I work daily with short sales, either buyers wanting to buy them or sellers wishing to sell their home as a short sale. I have decided to get more training in Short Sales in order to provide my customers with the best possible service. I will be attending a Short Sale Specialist Bootcamp at the end of this month. (Bootcamp...hopefully not so much like the other kind of Bootcamp with the marching, saluting, exercising, running with a 40 pound pack, lack of sleep, etc.) But an educational BootCamp.
Already I have received classroom materials. The Desk and Field supplementary material for becoming a Certified Short Sale Specialist contains information on topics such as: "What Listing Agents Need to Know About Short Sales," "Mortgage Broker Practices," "Analysis of Short Sale Properties" "Liability After Closing."
There are two sides to every story and this one having all the fabulous buyer's market deals that can occur because of the huge mortgages handed out a long time ago. And the other side of the coin is the homeowner who is totally distressed because they are losing their home and all the money and dreams they have invested in it.
So, I've decided to learn how to best handle both the Buyer's great investment opportunity side and also the Listing of the Seller's short sale home.
