McLobsters in Nova Scotia - Canada Lobster

While recently vacationing in Nova Scotia, our tour guide suggested we had "McLobsters" for lunch.  We thought "No Way!".  We went to the local McDonald's and, sure enough, they were "in season".

We enjoyed a delicious sandwich made with fresh real lobster meat, a diet coke and a milk shake for less than $20.00 dollars. McLobters are comparable to a lobster roll in Peggy's Cove, which is around $12.

Tempting, isn't it?

Marcia:  Interesting ... thanks for sharing the photos. It certainly would not temp me as I do not like lobster. Sounds like you had an amazing vacation ....

I want a McLobster.  I'd never heard of McDonald's selling these.  Wish we had them in Texas.

It sounds like it would beat a "McRib" sandwich anytime.  We have lots of pork in Indiana!  Thanks for sharing this Marica; I never would have ever dreamed that McDonalds had such a sandwich.

Marcia, this sounds good. We don't see anything like that here in Virginia.

I had heard that some McDonalds in Quebec served poutine, but I thought that was the only Can-con added to the menu. I will have to keep the McLobster in mind next time I'm out East (and cross my fingers it's in season)!

Cynthia, MMMM, Wish I could send you some.

Kathleen, Not everyone does.  I wonder which other McDonalds do regional food.  I didn't know they did that.  Yes, it was a wonderful getaway from Naples.  Now, it's back to work till next fall. :-)

Jeremy, I did not know they tailored the menu to fit the area.  I have been in China, Canada,India (no Mc Donald's) Croatia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, England,Switzerland to name a few and had not had a local food, but now I am going to have to look more closely.  LOL

Susan, Well, I am in San Antonio for a CRS 206 (again) and I am eating myself silly eating Tex Mex!  Oh, my!!!! Soooo good.

Bruce, Me neither!

Michael, The possibilities would be endless for regional food!  :-)

Emer,  I love poutine.  When I lived in Canada, I would go to our cottage for the summer in Quebec and always have poutine.  It's a no no in our diets but it is good! LOL  Nova Scotia has a pretty long lobster season (both coasts) so you might luck out.  Subway also sells lobster in their sandwiches.  Isn't life grand? :-)

Ann, I did.  I have never had such great seafood and we have some pretty good stuff in Naples.

Kathy, I know.  I thought our guide was putting me on when he said that had a Mc Lobster.  It was fresh and every bit as good as the one we had in Peggy's Cove for twice the price.

Scott, Hey, what do you want for six dollars?  LOL  I did not try it, but I did see a Subway in Antagonish, NS that had lobster on their menu as well. Who knew?

Ann, I ate myself silly with seafood in Nova Scotia.  We could use a little chilly weather right now.  It was 94 yesterday.  The weather should "turn" in about two weeks.  We get a cold snap and the temp plummets to 70.  LOL

You can have our chilly weather and the RAIN!  We were drenched with 4 inches in 24 hours.  The river will be out of it's banks tomorrow.

Ann, Oh, my, what crazy weather the U.S and Canada are having this year (and especially this summer).  Naples FL is having a huge spike in seasonal rentals due to this. Everybody wants out this winter. I hope you do not have too much more.  In Naples we have these pretty lakes that are not just for show. They are  mandated by Collier County in each development to control rainfall.  We have had nine inches in a day with no flooding during our rainy season.  I will send you some sun!  :-)

I thank you for the sunshine!  Today was sunny but cold...  I am not ready for winter.

Lakes to keep the areas from flooding?  That sounds great.
