Texas cities top the list
According to a study by the Brookings Institution, the five largest metros in Texas were among the strongest economies in the nation during the second quarter of 2009 (S.A. still among top cities, by William Pack, San Antonio Express News, Sept. 15, 2009, and DFW economic, housing markets among top in U.S., analysis finds, by Steve Brown, Dallas Morning News, Sept. 15, 2009). San Antonio was the only city to rank in the top 10 among the nation's 100 largest metropolitan areas in all four factors used to score cities - employment, unemployment rates, home prices, and productive output.
