In House Brochures | Go Green and Promote Your Virtual Tour

Flyers and Brochures

We've all been on showing appointments and proudly present the buyer with the in house property brochure that includes professional, high resolution graphics, floor plans, and features and benefits of the home in question.  One thing I've noticed over the past couple of months is that most listing agents are leaving the List Price off the brochure so that when there are price reductions, there is no need to reprint the brochure.

But what about taking it a step further and eliminating the printed brochures altogether?

Does anyone have a sign or anything posted about going GREEN and not having any printed brochures displayed?

I've even stopped with the Take One flyers and started the custom sign riders with the property website, and the text message information, thanks to AgencyLogic.

What's your opinion on the print brochures?  I know that sellers love to have them because it gives them something that is on display while their home is on the market.  In reality, the buyer is likely to already have the printed information from the MLS from their buyer agent anyway, or maybe they've already printed a brochure from another real estate website.

If you were selling your home, and your listing agent displayed a sign that said,

"We've Joined The Thousands of Environmentally Conscious People and elected not to Print Brochures, But Please Visit the EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY WEBSITE at www.123Main.com for a 24-Hour Virtual  Open House"

Is your agent cheap?Would you be disappointed that your agent didn't spend money to market your home with printed brochures?  Would you think your agent was being cheap, or not doing 100% to market your home?

If your agent had an impressive marketing plan, and a proven track record of sales, but did not make in house brochures to display, would you feel like you weren't getting your money's worth?

Tell me what you think.

Hey Tamara - Interesting tweet about mobile marketing of real estate... When folks text you for a brochure, don't you get their cell phone, name and other contact info? Isn't that a little bit more reliable than the sign in sheets for open houses? If so, then I'd say it's a bit more valuable mode than print, which doesn't come back.

Here's an interesting case of how a car dealer hustled some prospects onto his lot, and amplified his new and used car sales for one day with radio ads and a txt/short code contest. http://www.mobilemarketer.com/cms/news/messaging/4403.html

Thanks Mark!  What a great article!  And you're right, when I get the mobile texts from a lead, it includes their cellphone but not their name.  Not a problem because that's the first question that I ask when I call back.  Capturing the cell phone number is valuable info, but I just wonder would a seller feel 'neglected' if their listing agent didn't have elaborate printed brochures on display.
