What a great way to start the holiday month!
The holiday season is here and with the season comes Holiday Events. The City of Allen has two upcoming events in the next couple of weeks. For those that love Christmas trees, don't miss out on the Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 4th at Civic Plaza. The tree this year will stand at 35 ft. tall and have over 20,000 lights. There will be an additional 40,000 lights throughout the complex and surrounding buildings. The event will have musical performances from the Allen High School choir, plenty of fun food, and most importantly a visit from Santa.
The lighting ceremony will begin at 7pm.
Next up is the Rudolph Run 5k on Dec. 5th.
Starting at 7am. The Rudolph Run will allow you to work off some of those holiday calories from turkey day or help with those upcoming holiday calories down the road. This small event started out with only 300 runners at its beginning and now attracts over 2,000 runners. That's something to be very proud of for everyone involved and for the community of Allen. This is a great event for the family; especially if you have small children, the One-Mile Fun Run starts at 8:15am. What a great way to promote health and fitness right? The 5k will start shortly after the kids are done.
