In difficult Real Estate economic times like these it can seem impossible and exhausting to make money.  It may appear that everyone is saying no, and raising enough clients to keep your business going is nearly impossible.  You may grow angry at those who have wealth, but are unwilling to part with it because of fear and uncertainty.  Generally people will be honest with you and try to help you out.

In times like these it can be helpful to remember why people buy or sell and what motivates and demotivates participating.  It is important to take a bigger picture view of what you are asking for.  You are NOT asking for money to keep your business from shutting down.  You are NOT asking them to save a sinking ship. (well maybe it is a sinking ship).

In these hard times it makes more sense than ever to ask past clients for referrals and help in keeping your business going. You don't have to sound needy, just let them know you're still there for them and their friends and family.  We all have to get through these times together more than ever before.

Keep in touch with your contacts and spend a little time letting them know your still in the business and need them.. As much as they needed us in helping them find their perfect home or in helping them selling their place.  They will be happy to hear from you.  Penny O

Penny great post.

I was actually in a session this morning with a national trainer that stressed the same thing. It's often easier to be the one to say yes to helping someone else then it is the one to be asking for help.

I agree that one does not want to sound needy but they must ask for help before it is too late to save the ship.
