Google Alerts For Real Time Tweets? Bite Me...

I like serial commenting, but not if Google is going to index and send me an alert for all of my tweets. Have you lost your social media mind? Who thought this was a bright idea? Seriously... Did you know that some of us have thousands of tweets floating through cyberspace? You are now telling me what I first tweeted and what my friends have re-tweeted from @CTannStarr? (As if I didn't know... sigh. Oh... wait... tweets are news now... LOL)

I understand the need for reporting real time news, but to give me an alert because I say, "Bite Me?" Hmm... You may want to rethink that (LOL). If this keeps up I may have to send my thoughts on the matter to the people who do John Bell Stupid News (ROTFLMAO).

Google alerts on my tweets will definitely make me tweet less. So much for serial commenting... Maybe I should have some fun and play a new social media game, especially with the lists feature since a search of our handles brings up our lists that we like (LOL).

Hmm... I wonder if I can get to page one of Google for the phrase Bite Me (Hahahahahaaaaaa!)

Shall I start a Bite Me List? Shall I play Bite Tag with my Bite Me faves? Are you confused yet? I may be just a wee bit confused myself because I'm not sure how the indexing is going to work. Lets start with this post and see how fast my Google Alerts go off when I send that puppy over to Twitter (LMAO).

Real time tweets might be exploited for SEO if we figure out how. Wanna take a crack at it? Oh come on! You know you want to see Wordy C try. We all know how easily amused I am (LOL). Just sayin... ;-)

UPDATED:

Wikipedia: "Bite Me" is a phrase first heard in Burbank, Illinois in 2001. It began as a slang expression for discontent by a group of preteens in 2001 in what was known as the city of Burbank in Illinois. Bite me is typically used as an idiomatic expression of discontent or annoyance with another party."

Why did I update? So people don't read something into this that is not here and leave me stupid comments on my blog (LOL).

Kristal, I shall try to limit myself to 10 tweets a day. Will they be relevant or news worthy? Who knows (LOL). ;-)

Jean, there are approximately 12 million Internet entries for the term Bite Me. I love a challenge. If I manage to make it to the top five pages with this post and and a wee bit of twitter link love, it will be a testament to my quirky brand of facetious SEO (LOL). I didn't casually pick the term to be vulgar, I strategically picked the term as a fun social media experiment. What does "find another phrase by googling yours" mean because I do not understand your comment at all and would love to understand the purpose of making it. What do you mean? I do not want to assume because we all know what happens when you assume (LMAO). Another phrase wouldn't be as fun or the same in SEO rewards...  ;-)

Patricia, thank you. My guy pie is a sweetie. I am soooo biased and soooo in love with my little cutie. :-)

YES! I want to see "Bite Me" become official news! (It's one of my favorite responses. Mwa ha ha haaaa)  But who in their right mind would consider half of the mindless drivel that gets tweeted to be news? I don't even have the tolerance to log in very often. I'm just not a Twitter fan. It really annoys me.

I read about this, and then saw it in action the other day on my Google Alerts for my name.

Oh my must be careful now, as they might be taken out of context.

Carra, the fascinating thing is the entries for the phrase are now down by over 3 million. (ROTFL) Coincidence? Hmm... My Google Alerts abruptly stop going off too. So did my Step Rep alerts (LOL). I'm waiting for the next round of 'em and wondering what happen to those other entries. The organic nature of the changing links fascninate me. I am comparing my printouts of the first ten pages and they are shifting. Isn't SEO fun? :-)

Missy, we do have to be careful and we do seem to have to make a wee bit more effort to get people on the same page regarding our thoughts. Slang as a "negative connotation" does not always denote the profane and when one uses irony like I do, sometimes the point of the post flies over some people's heads because they get caught up in how they feel abot the syntax rather than the content as a whole.

In my previous post there was a point made about reading someone then trying to edit them instead of understanding them. I had a "duh" moment when it happened here because I said what I was thinking and telling me to find other words because we all know what I mean kinda means we don't all know what I mean (LOL). I missed the mark (LOL). That means I need to tweak how I say it until we all do know what I mean (which might be mad fun - ROTFL).

Diane, I like the cyberjam quip. I'm trying to cook something up with that because it would make such a nice blog post title (LMAO). There are approximately 32,700 entries for that search term. I think I can take it over and make it to page one... What say you? I plan to give it a try later. :-)

I haven't yet used twitter, but I did set up a Google Alerts program when I read about it here yesterday.

So, I'll have to see how it goes.

Im not offended by your 'bite me' comment. Does the same thing happen if your tweets are private? I assume it doesnt, but Im not positive. I've received a few notices about my tweets, not all, but some. Not sure why they pick some and not others. Maybe I was only interesting some of the time but not all of the time.... thats my life story. Anyway, I'll help you get to page one of BITE ME... just keeping posting and I'll RT and ask others to RT. Its a quest of 2010.

John, private tweets are not indexed unless someone re-tweets your private tweet, putting it into the public time line. I think they also pick tweets that are trending topics.

LOL @ Candice. It seems to be used a lot for Vampire chats, bait and tackle shops (business monikers) and is also the name of several television episodes (Medium, CSI, etc - LOL). It's catchy and versatile. :-)

C, there is a group of us that, when we are wronged, instead of responding in kind or being upset,  we symbolically add the offender to the 'bite me' conga line which after doing it for a few years is now reaching around the world...:)

(You should know by now I joke but I never kid...HAHAHAHA)
