Hello folks,
Went for a COLD walk on the beach this morning. The temperature was hovering around 56 degress ..... and YES this is COLD for us!!! The Gulf was at Low Tide but still very much churned up from the storms and strong winds. Not only was it cold but the winds were blowing between 10 & 25mph ... cutting right through any clothes I was wearing. The plus side was that the gulf waters were much warmer than the air temps so it was considerably nicer walking in the surf. ...
OK .... I'll stop whining now and shw some pictures from paradise...
You may be able to tell in the picture below how the beach has washed out and making it a gradual slope down to the waters edge. The waves also washed out most of the shells.
Below picture is looking out into the gulf from the northern most end of Bonita Beach on Little Hickory. During high tide, all the sand you see in the pic would be covered in roughly 12 inches or more of water.
Below is a collection of LIVE Florida Fighting Conch shells. Hundreds of these have been exposed due to the beach washing out and the strong waves.
Here is a small crab sitting in a pool of water. He was about three to four inches across.
Hope you have enjoyed todays pics from a cold cloudy day!!
