PEOPLE ABANDONING THEIR PETS IN FORECLOSURES? IT IS A CRUEL REALITY!

I was just reading about stories of abandoned animals when people lose their homes in foreclosures or power of sales (Canada).

I just CAN"T BELIEVE how anybody can abandon their Pet without food or water and left them behind.

Pets are part of the family once you get them and we need to be responsible for them for EVER!

It seems that in May alone, authorities found 23 abandoned animals in a house in Lake Carmel, N.Y.; 20 birds in a Lorain, Ohio, house; 24 horses on a Bixby, Okla., property; and more than 60 cats in a home in Cincinnati. All of these properties were in foreclosure, and most of the animals were injured, infected, dehydrated and starved nearly to death.

I know how hard may be to lose your home but your pets can not pay for it!

If you're facing foreclosure and are unable to care for your animals, call a shelter such as the Best Friends Animal Society, or the Ontario SPCA http://www.ospca.org. There is an answer if you ask for help but NEVER ABANDON YOUR BEST FRIENDS! THAT IS CRUEL!

Pets really get the short end of the deal -- they are loyal companions and they try so hard to be a part of the family -- most of the time they give unconditional love -- this is so very sad.  It is good to let people know that there ar places they can take their pets -- perhaps some just need time to get into a new situation and can take the pets back later.

That's how I ended up with my most recent member of the family! He was left at a home that I was attempting a Short Sale on before Foreclosure, and the homeowner, who was out of state called me and asked me to go water his dog, he had called the local animal shelter to come pick him up, but they wouldn't be out until the next day. I wasn't at home at the time, but my husband was, so I called him up and asked him to go water this puppy that I was told was a Chocolate Lab mix puppy. Much to his surprise when he got inside the "puppies" yard, he quickly found out that this puppy was about a 75lb full grown 1 year old Pit Bull/Chocolate Lab mix and didn't look very friendly (at first). It turns out he is the sweetest thing you've ever seen. Pit bulls really get a bad rap. We ended up keeping him long enough to try and find him a home, well a week later, he had found one, he was here to stay.  He gets along great with our other dog. Oh, and did I mention the 2 are inseperable now!

No, they are not spoiled!!! This is how they should all be treated!
