Craigslist can generate leads

Do you use Craigslist?

Yesterday, I posted all of my listings to Craigslist at about 1pm.  It had probably been a week and a half or so since my last postings expired and its not something that is at the top of my list of things to do.  However, before 6pm last night I received a call from a woman who was interested in seeing my listing.  I'm showing her the condo at 1750 Marywood #106 in Aurora on Saturday.  Its a 1 Bedroom condo with laminate floors throughout on the first floor of the building.  The asking price is $67,000 for sale and $700 for rent (includes heat, water, etc).

I also had a more visits on Wednesday to my website than I did the entire week preceeding the postings.

The best thing is it took about 5-10 minutes to post because my company website generates the code to post on Craigslist.  If you don't have this ability there are other websites that will do it for you.  Hotpads.com will generate the html code for you if you post on their site.  This one is free, too.

Has anyone had any success with Craigslist?

I have never tried Craigslist.  For me, I think the issue is fear of the unknown.  Your post just might be enough of a nudge for me to try.

Thank You Steve =)

Never had any luck selling properties with CraigsList but our rental dept has great leads from it.

 I have sold lots of furniture and other personal items on CraigsList.

Chris, Anything that takes so little time can't hurt.  Especially if you can get the code generated for you.

Jackie, My previous experience trying to sell items has been limited to "deaf" people from Texas sending "a representative" to come pick up an item.  Asked for cash and never heard another peep.

I've used Craigslist many times for my listings and rentals and have received calls.  I'm now trying others like Backpage and Zijiji but have had no success yet with those.

Steve

I have had great success with Craigslist

I use to use Postlets but finally realized I was missing out on So much!

Lack Of Branding (ads look like Postlets NOT me)

Too time consuming

Waste of prime space on ads (top of ad) waste valuable space for year built, HOA, parking ect

Headlines dont stand out, etc etc

I tried this software WebAds For Real Estate that is Faster and way better and got MORE responces from my ads!

If you want better response from Craigslist you need better ads!

* Ads should incorporate your BRANDING by using the look and feel of your website

* Photos with Captions

* Consistent layout and look

* Enough detail (not too much!) to get the phone to ring.

I found this great software that does all that and more, check it out they have a free trial download here http://droz-consulting.com/software/purchase.html

Steve,

We've found that Craigslist is a "huge" source of buyer leads when you post the right type of ads.

So huge that we built a system to create the ads for you that makes it simple.  It even tracks the number of views and click throughs you get so you know exactly how well it's working.

Check it out at AdMakerTool.com
