July 2007 - Trumbull, CT makes Money Magazine's 2007 list of "The Best Places to Live" - Trumbull ranked #68. The list included only towns with populations above 7,000 and below 50,000. It is based on several things, including crime rates, housing affordability to ambience and leisure opportunities. Trumbull is located very conveniently to several major highways for those who are commuters to lower Fairfield County cities where many residents work, like Stamford, Norwalk and even New York City. Trumbull has a population of around 36,000 and is mostly residential. The average price for a single family home for 2007 as of June 30th is: $524,978 (as per Consolidated MLS). This is great news for Trumbull for so many reasons. People want to live in towns that are recognized on this list. It just confirms their decisions for moving to this town and will also entice buyers playing into their emotions. Trumbull has been able to maintain it's small community feel while spending money on those things that make young families want to move here. The Trumbull parks are some of the most touted parks around. Anyone who lives in Trumbull will tell you - they are the BEST.
The above Pinewood Lake photo was the recent shoot (July 2007) for a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kat Winslet called "Revolutionary Road". Another movie "For One More Day" will be shooting scenes on Route 25 through Trumbull and Monroe and will be closed July 19th and 20th - that movie will star the famous Soprano star Michael Imperioli (as Christopher Moltisanti). CT has been the place for several movie locations. It's very exciting here in Trumbull and our surrounding towns with all the buzz of the movies.
