As you may have seen on previous Sundays, my daughter, Rachel Mode is studying abroad in Florence, Italy this semester. I have been enjoying sharing a few of her memorable pictures here on ActiveRain. I will be joining her in less than 6 weeks now! As the time approaches I find myself looking closer and closer at the pictures. I will see this same view soon! This is a view of the city of Florence from the Piazza Michelanglo. I guess it is quite a hike up the hill to the Piazza but obviously well worth it!
Have fun Lori!! I'm sure you are counting down the weeks/days til you go!! :)
Hi Lori,
Oh my, this looks like a portrait. I can't begin to imagine what that must look like it person, hope you have a wonderful trip soon and have lots of great photos to share with us back home.
Sonja - I am counting down the days! I have 40 days until I leave! I have been walking around with a smile on my face all the time recently because of it!
Lynda - it does look like a portrait, doesn't it. I realized after I posted it though that it would be even more incredible if I had cropped out a portion of the upper sky. I will be sure to bring lots of great photos back...I am truly too excited for words!
I bet you are counting the days for when you get to visit your daughter. What a wonderful opportunity that she has being able to study abroad. The picture does look like a portrait. Looking forward to seeing more.
Lori & Bruce ~ Now that is a beautiful site. Can't wait to go there next summer!
I have been there and Florence is the most beautiful city if have ever seen. It is all walking and sites to see. Did I mention the food? It is all Italian! Don't spend too much time in Venice, 2 days is plenty, but when there go to Murano and Burano!
Robert - we will be going from Florence, to Venice (2 days, I think), then Tuscany but not sure where - my son in law has planned everything because he has been before, then the Amalfi Coast and then Rome and back to Florence! I will have to check out Murano and Burano....thanks!
Florenz is such a beautiful city anytime of year. I don't think there is anywhere I'd rather be at the moment
Lori, Our grandson spent three weeks over there before Christmas and really liked the whole area. I know that you will also enjoy.
Lori & Bruce, that photo looks like a painting. I went to Florence, Rome and Venice when in college. Italy was my favorite country of all the ones I visited in Europe.
