Sites such as Realty News..Are they good for SEO?

I wanted to get the networks opinion on the site called RealtyTimes.  I think the site is great due to the awesome articles it contains.  Also the market watch is kind of different too. Are any of you members?  And is having a backlink from the site worth the $699.  I know it is a highly ranked Real Estate site but for $699 there are a million more ways to go.  I noticed a competitor with my search terms had a link from there, thats what sparked the interest.  I would love to see what Mary says about this one.

it is good but seems expensive. You are also getting the newsletter are you. Study the back links of of others to get some ideas. AA has a gold program that they sold agents who did'nt want to work themselves. You can get some ideas there.

Ken Smith has a great blog on good sites to link to. It is well worth readiing and looking into some of the things he is suggesting. How does your site rank for the terms you are going after now. it may be more of an issue to focus on you key areas more.

Honestly, I am not a fan of paying for links.  Besides you need a great volume of quality links to count in Google.  You also can't build backlinks too fast as that can look like rank manipulation to Google.  My recommendation is before you buy that service, start a solid backlink campaign of your own.  Do that for about 6 months and see where that leaves you in the positioning. there are plenty of ways to build backlinks that don't require spending that kind of money.

We get a lot of our RealtyTimes articles through Keller Williams. I LOVE reading them. $699 seems a bit expensive, though. Good post.
