Boulder ClimateSmart Loan Program Application Process On Hold for 60 Days
The ClimateSmart program offers loans for home energy-efficient upgrades through a special property tax assessment. The loans for Boulder County residents stays with the property when the home is sold and can be repaid over a 15 year period. Homeowners can borrow up to 20% of the taxable value of the home or $50,000, whichever is smaller.
The program application dates are extended to assure compliance with new requirements from the Department of Energy. The new requirements apply to similar programs all across the country. As a result, Boulder ClimateSmart has decided to put the application process on hold until late July.
Homeowners can still apply online, but loans will not be awarded until after the hold period. For more information, contact the ClimateSmart Loan Program.
