What is a self directed IRA? A self directed ira is a retirement plan that allows you to invest in real estate, notes, liens, private placement, etc. It is a fantastic tool to gain control of you future and to start saving for retirement. While the stock market is doing well right now, a number of my clients are fed up with the ups and downs and want to start investing in what they know. A number of them invest in real estate and private mortgages. Now if you called you financial instituion and asked if you can invest in real estate, they will most likely try and put you into a REIT. While this is a good investment, this is not the type of real estate that I am speaking off. You can actually use your retirement plan to purchase an investment property. Not only will you IRA benefit from the monthly income, but it will also appreciate in value. Or another type of transaction is lending money out of your IRA and getting back a certain a rate of return better than a CD. There are many types are transaction you can do with your IRA. If you have any questions on how this can benefit you, please feel free to call or e-mail me.
