I read this interesting info in our CRS news and thought I would pass it on.

More U.S. residents moved in 2009 than they did in 2008, according to a new report by the U.S. Census Bureau. According to data from Geographical Mobility: 2009, 37.1 million people changed residences in the U.S. within the past year, up from 35.2 million people who moved in 2008. More than two-thirds (67.3 percent) moved within the same county, 17.2 percent moved to a different county in the same state, 12.6 percent moved from a different state and 2.9 percent moved to the U.S. from abroad.

Of residents who are 16 and older who were unemployed, 20.9 percent lived in a different residence a year ago compared with 12.5 percent of those who were employed. Nearly half of movers (45.9 percent) said they moved because they wanted to own a home or live in a better neighborhood, while 26.3 percent moved because of family concerns and 17.9 percent moved due to changing employment needs.

This is an interesting post and along with technology we must keep up with the demographics of the folks we are working with

Unfortunately for me to relate these numbers to my locale, it's more like an exodus.  We have been hit with such high unemployment and little actual industry to fall back on in our resort and recreation heavy area I feel that 44-45% moved because of loss of a home or a job due to our economy.  The good news is that evidently 59% of those people who chose to relocate across the nation evidently came to Oregon (according to NAR posted numbers...) so I am out diligently looking for them!
