This North Seattle neighborhood has bragging rights to the second highest spot in Seattle, (West Seattle has the highest elevation). On 91st street between Roosevelt Way and 5th Avenue, you can stand at just over 500 feet.
It is believed that Maple Leaf's name is attributed to the early 1900's maple saw mill located near where the Northgate Mall now sits.
The neighborhood's most recognizable feature is the water tower with maple leaves painted on it and can be viewed from Interstate 5. The water tower borders the Reservoir and playground. Currently, plans are being developed for a redesign and expansion of the playground to a full 16 acre park using the reservoir lid space to expand. (Using reservoir lid space is a city wide project).
Roosevelt Way holds an assortment of local businesses such as a fun flower and gift shop, a video store, a dog grooming business, of course, a couple of coffee shops, Ace Hardware and the 
Reservoir Tavern to name a few. And one of Seattle's most popular restaurants, Judy Fu's Snappy Dragon and the Maple Leaf Grill are just a couple of good dining choice here. Over on 15th you'll find the Northwest Puppet Center and Northgate Mall sits on the northwest boundary.
Maple Leaf is a great walking neighborhood with well-maintained, charming homes that are mostly bungalow and tudor styles of architecture. Since 2000, there has been a lot of renovation and several town homes have been built along Roosevelt Avenue.
Recently, homes have sold for as low as $160,000 for a two bedroom fixer to $525,000 for an updated three bedroom brick tudor.
Extremely easy freeway access, close proximity to Green Lake, great shopping options and a caring community make this neighborhood a good choice when shopping for a new home.
