Responding to the TB Alert in Anaheim Hills, the Orange County Health Care Agency is hosting a question and answer session at Esperanza High School tonight.

Agency experts will be in the school's theater at 7pm to answer your questions and concerns.  The theater address is 1830 N. Kellog Drive, Anaheim, CA 92807.

There were only 197 cases of active TB discovered in Orange County in 2009 and that is the lowest number since the 70's, but that is likely because of excellent response, education and health care.  This is your opportunity to contribute to the excellent response!  TB is highly contagious because it is an airborne disease, transferred by a cough or exhaling a breath.  It is common for people to get TB and not show symptoms; meanwhile they are spreading the disease as a carrier.  That is why it is important to get tested and understand the disease.

I'm writing about this in an effort to make sure you are there if you live, work or have a family member that attends Esperanze High School.  It sounds like the OC Health Care Agency has this under control; we can help them succeed in knocking it down.

You can visit the Health Care Agency web site at http://www.ochealthinfo.com/.

Together, we are better!
