Moose in Orleans

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Hallmark Realty Group Ottawa

The Fallingbrook area in Orleans had two visitors - moose.  Unfortunately, one was put down and the other was tranquilized.  Moose are huge animals and be quite dangerous when cornered but if you keep your distance they will leave the area (very slowly)

Having lived in the country (Hammond, ON) for many years, I've encountered a many moose, deer, beavers, etc.  We actually had one young come to our back door to much on some of my plants.  Very cute but even little ones are huge.

As Ottawa and surrounding areas are growing all the wild animals are being pushed further and further out but some try to come back for a visit and they get confused and probably quite scared.   When you do encounter a wild animal - don't approach and let the authorities know right away.

I was up in Vermont over the weekend and have some great pictures of the moose near the Canadian border.

With moose distance can be your friend

Enjoy the day
