Here is a quick look at the real estate market in Whittier CA. 

Single Family Residences

The level of active homes for sale in Whittier rose to 858 at the end of the month of July.  An additional 146 houses went into escrow, and only 75 single family residences sold. 

July's inventory of active Single Family Residences of 858 units shows an increase of 257 houses over the active inventory of 601 in July 2006.

There were 75 Whittier houses sold in July 2007, in contrast to 113 houses sold in July 2006.

In summary, many more houses are for sale now than one year ago, for an increase of nearly 35%.

The average home in Whittier in July 2006 took 46 days to sell; whereas homes that sold in July 2007 took an average of 75 days to sell.

Over the course of the past year, it has become a strong Buyers' Market, where the buyer now has more leverage and much more room to negotiate a better deal than a year ago.
