Have we reached the bottom yet?

Managing Real Estate Broker with Riley Jackson Real Estate Inc.

Have we reached bottom yet? This is the question i hear most from home sellers.

In the South Puget Sound area we didn't have a bubble that burst. What our market experienced was more like a hot air balloon, that after a high light, has steadily descended toward ground. Like all things cyclical, it will rise again, ... and, when reaching a certain stratosphere, will ultimately lower again.

I don't know if it has reached bottom yet, but the decline is clearly leveling off.

We usually only know where the bottom is after we've already hit it and market values show a climbing trend.

Let me know if you'd like to know what the real estate market is doing in your specific community and how it impacts your home value.

Hello Sandy, thanks for posting.  In my market, Temecula CA we've seen the amount of units decline but the median price increase from 2009 levels.  We all hear rumors about a double dip, who really knows if that will come to fruition.

All the best!

Hi Ryan,

In our community we see an increas ein transactions and a devrease in inventory, but prices still decline, due to the many foreclosures and short sale. Prices decline by less and less every month.
