Supra Lockbox Activity Week Ending 6/20/10
NOTE: The Supra Lockbox is the magic access key that allows agents to open the doors on listed property. It also keeps statistics, and as you can see, there has been a DECREASE in activity for Oregon, which also includes Portland, OR real estate activity. The Metro Porltand market is the largest in the State. But this is an all encompassing Statewide stat. Keep in mind: This does NOT mean that sales, closed transaction, inventory have INCREASED or DECREASED.
In last week's (week ending 6/13/10) report I wrote: There is another slight uptick in the amount of times the Supra Lockbox keys have been used. I'm beginning to wonder about this too. If you notice, what would seem to be the most active days of touring, i.e., Saturday and Sunday, the numbers are actually down for this weekending report. I wonder why that is?? Week ending 6/6/10 showed 2,539 for Saturday, compared to 6/13/10 with 2,182. A lot of activity on Mondays?
This week's report: I'm hoping that the down arrow, especially for Sunday June 20 which dropped about 1,000 from the previous Sunday, had something to do with it being Father's Day. The drop wasn't that unexpected, and I think we'll see more drops in the activity levels of buyers in the weeks to come. I hope not! We're finally into a pleasant summer (after months of cool, rainy weather), and I'm trying to remain optimist that this -- combined with interest rates -- will improve the market somewhat!
BUYERS: What that means for you . . . the properties you have interest in might / might not have the level of activity as expected. These showings are for the RMLS Supra lockbox in the state. The Portland, OR real estate market might have slightly higher levels of activity.
SELLERS: Check and see with your listing agent if the STAT above is holding true with your property. Are you getting any more showings, or has activity level dropped??
