A Tribute to a Man Who Taught Me I CAN Do Anything- Miss you Dad

This blog is a tribute to my Dad. He recently passed away after struggling for the last 14 years with MS. He had just turned 65 and his fight against the disease and diabetes just became too much for him. I admired him so much! Even his last few weeks while he suffered with pain, not being able to eat, fluid in his lungs... he NEVER complained. If you asked him how he was, he would tell you he was fine, say he didn't hurt and he would smile. Such strength. He was so proud of me when I passed my Real Estate Exam! He knew it was something I loved and told me I could do it. He always told me I could do anything! I believed him too. I didn't have my Mom growing up, my Dad was there for me. He was everything to me when I was young. He taught me how to change tires, put in new lights and ceiling fans, put up a wall, cook- you name it. He was an entrepreneur, I guess that's where I get it from. It seems I have always been one for having a business of some sort. I am a very positive person just as he was. I am glad he passed that trait to me.

My Dad was a good man- he taught me well and I hope to pass on his legacy to my son.

Your Dad taught you well, it's clear you two had a very special relationship, Im sure you will pass alot on to your son from your Dad, and Im sure your Dads courage showed many people another side of life. I will add you to my prayers, now is the time when you can use so much of what your dad taught you. It takes strength and courage to say good bye to someone so special. Good luck,

This is an endearing post...I can't and don't want to imagine life without my dad. I hope your pain eases soon; just remember all that he did, and all that will live on through you and his grandson.

Melissa,

I can identify with your feelings.  I lost my mother at age 18 and my father at age 30. I believe that I would give up 10 years of my life span to be able to spend 1 day with them.

I truly appreciate the warm response from everyone as well as getting a featured post here! It is uplifting and you guys are so thoughtful. This post was kind of a little therapy for me. I have been missing my Dad terribly and am just trying to work through it. I am so thankful for an outlet to do that. This is a great group at AR!
