Putt-Putt Golf Returns Home - Breaks Ground in Hope Mills
Putt-Putt golf finally returns to it’s original home here in the Fayetteville Fort Bragg Area. It’s amazing when you first come to an area the amount of history it has. I noticed the new Putt-Putt going up near the Millstone shopping center, and I said finally it’s back.
In the Fayetteville area many don’t realize that Don Clayton started the Putt-Putt Franchise in Fayetteville, NC where he created the first course, in 1954. He charged 25 cents per game, and in 1955 the company began franchising and expanding to new locations. In it’s glory days there were over 265 Putt-Putt locations in the United States.
Putt-Putt return is a strong sign of the area’s need for more entertainment for youth and adults alike. Welcome home Putt-Putt.
