Missed the Tax Credit??

If you "missed" the tax credit back in April, you would have probably had a 5 1/4 % interest rate on a 30 year fixed loan up to $417,000, where today your interest rate on the same conforming loan would be about 4 1/4%!!! For example on a $400k loan, you would save 1% per year, which is $4k per year...so in 8 years (average person stays in a home 6-10 years), you save $32k which is MUCH better than $8k!!!

Thanks Heidi for that great information. Very informative and such a better deal than the actual credit is. Great time to buy a home at these rates and save, save save.
