Uplifting Wednesday! Scripture of the Week!

Real Estate Agent with Paige Walker LA License #3866

fleur de lisFaith is a beautiful word! Sometimes when life throws us a curve ball it is difficult to keep the faith. Even Peter who walked with Jesus, 'took his eye off the ball'! Notice in the scripture that Peter did not begin to 'sink' UNTIL he took his eyes off of Jesus and began to look around at the circumstances he was in! That is a lesson we need to all Learn!!

During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"

So true, what Peter needed was faith, He focused on the storm, and became afraid. He lost his focus on Jesus, the one who could keep him from sinking. The same can hold true for us. The more we dwell on our problems, the more fearsome they will look to us. We should dwell instead on solutions.

Hi Paige,

As always, I look forward to reading your blogs. Faith can be so simple at times, and other times we struggle, with doubts or small opinions of who God is because of our sinful nature. Trusting God like a young child who trusts their parents for all things, is how we should all come to Jesus everyday.

Casting Crowns has a great song titled "Voice of Truth" about walking on water and slaying giants.  I listen to it every time my faith starts to waiver.
