I’m in sultan, but I’m not insultan you!

I’m insultan, but I’m not insultan you!

In our area we have many unusual names for towns and places.

We have Mukilteo and Puyallup
then there’s Yelm and Sammamish.
We have Tukwila and Suquamish
followed by Issaquah and Snohomish.
Without even mentioning Snoqualmie
Steilacoom or Stillaguamish.

With all those wonderful names to pick from in our area of Seattle Washington, my favorite is still the little town of Sultan.

Where did the name come from? According to Wikipedia, the town of Sultan was named after an Indian Chief called Tsultad.

Never mind.

I just love saying I am insultan.

Not insultan YOU!

Just insultan...

Here is a video I did the other day for a Broker Price Opinion in my favorite town - Sultan.

I'm in planO texas and I like that I can pronounce it with ease and, of course, with a drawl. Looks like Sultan was as wet as our day here in Plano was.

Phil - I can't even pronounce some of those name. As you no doubt know, we do have quite a few Native Indian town and village names here in BC.  I'll give you a few samples too ...

Esquimalt - in Victoria and Squamish and Lillooet on the mainland.

Cheers

David

Hi David,

The NW Indian tribes (oops - first nations) gave us some rich heritage!

Thanks
