That can be discouraging...
Spending so much time preparing what you are going to write... Some bloggers spend hours, and some spend days. Thinking, preparing, planning, outlining...
Spending so much time writing out the blog... Correcting it, editing it, sharing it with our friends and loved ones...
Spending so much time figuring out how to actually post the blog... When you click the post button, realizing what happens next... Not sure if that is the actual button that posts to YOUR blog, so someone else's...
Spending so much time with the butterflies... The butterflies in your stomach need to be taught how to fly in formation. How to be settled down so you will actually hit the "post" button...
Spending so much time figuring out how to post a picture on the blog... How to post ii, resize it, edit it, change the position on the blog...
And finally, you post your very first blog and wait for the world to read and give you praise on how well it is written. How you created great content, and stirred up great thoughts. And you imagined how you were going to respond to each and every comment...
And you wait... and you wait... and you wait...
You check the statistics, and people are reading it... But no comments.
You then become discouraged, and never write a blog post again. This happened to me when I first started to blog. I wrote a few blogs, and only got a few comments.... It wasn't until I started blogging again, that I realized this revelation...
If you want people to read and comment on your blog, read and comment on others. It is that simple. Out of sight, out of mind... In sight, in mind.
Comment on 10 blogs a day, for 30 days... That's it! That's the magic sauce...
You will see new friendships blossom, and great comments on your blogs. You will then never ask the question regarding no comments on your blogs again! In doing this, you will also create a new habit, and blogging will become something you love to do.
Commenting reminds everyone about you... So go out there, and try it! :) If you are up to it, try 15 or 20 a day! I know a bunch of us do it!
